The Concert for the Cure Foundation and Gamma Chi Delta choose to donate 100% of Concert for the Cure’s proceeds to the American Cancer Society. Gammas originally chose the American Cancer Society as the benefactor of our event back in 2005 because two current members were cancer survivors themselves. However, since almost everyone has been touched by cancer one way or another, we are proud to continually support such a worthy cause.

In the past two years, we have chosen for a significant portion of our donation to be applied directly to Camp Discovery, an American Cancer Society program for children with cancer. Camp Discovery is a week-long summer camp for children ages 7-16 who are either currently diagnosed with or in remission from cancer, and is provided by the ACS at no cost to the children or their families.

Approximately 1 in 4 deaths in the United States is caused by a form of cancer and a total of1,529,560 new cancer diagnoses and 569,490 deaths from cancer have been projected to occur in the US in 2010 alone. Help us in our goal to raise over $40,000 this year at Concert For The Cure to put towards the fight against cancer.
